Job Description

The role of an Assistant Designer is pivotal in driving design team workflows to ensure all designs in the portfolio adhere to style guides, fashion language, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and track the departmental fashion calendar for the season, synchronizing timelines with cross-functional teams.
  2. Conduct research and forecast evolving fashion trends, incorporating insights into design portfolios to stay ahead of competition.
  3. Monitor market changes and competitor activity, applying strategic thinking to drive design innovation.
  4. Perform daily organizational tasks, such as styling product ranges, embroidery development, and sample creation, ensuring efficient production processes.
  5. Organize styling materials and resources for sampling purposes, streamlining workflow and productivity.
  6. Conceptualize, create, and deliver strong design solutions, effectively communicating ideas through presentations and contributing to key brainstorming sessions.
  7. Collaborate with Design Merchant teams to drive business growth and success.
People Management Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Sampling, Pattern & Khaka's masters and Embroiders to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Coach and provide technical guidance to other designers on the team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Design (NIFT/NID/Pearl Academy etc) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Excel, as well as Corel Draw.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in fashion design, with a proven track record of designing an eye-catching apparel portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of Indian ethnic wear design sensibilities, including fabric and styling expertise.
