The Senior Big Data Engineer will be responsible for managing analytics support for key initiatives across all segments and products. This includes ensuring quality service output, continuously improving productivity, and managing data and information support for key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality service output is submitted in a timely manner and communicated effectively.
  • Continuously improve productivity to meet standards prescribed from time to time.
  • Manage data and information support for key initiatives across Retail Bank supporting countries and group teams.
  • Work closely with technology to resolve production issues impacting existing infrastructure/solution, covering data quality, assurance, refresh timeliness, and security governance.
  • Review integration of new functionality/technology implementation projects initiated by Business and Technology.
  • Extend analytics support spanning entire business gamut (Customer Acquisition, Portfolio Management, New Product Development).
  • Manage analysis and reporting across all Retail products/segments.
  • Interact with metrics owners across various functions and get end-to-end understanding of metrics and their applicability across MI dashboards.
  • Provide development opportunities through regular engagement, ensuring staff awareness of available opportunities to help them succeed in their role.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, assemble large complex data sets meeting functional/non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant technology experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Big Data tech., HIVE, HBase, Kafka, Spark.
  • Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Strong SQL experience.
  • Good experience with Database & Data Warehouse building and management.
  • Exposure to data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
