Visual Effects Mentor Role

The role of a Visual Effects (VFX) mentor is pivotal in guiding and directing junior artists.

They provide comprehensive training on software such as Houdini, focusing on advanced techniques like RBD Fracture Simulation, Cloth Simulation, Water Simulation, Fire Simulation, Crowd Simulation, Grain Simulation, and Plant Instance Simulation.

VFX mentors must teach Lookdev principles to achieve convincing results for clients. They also facilitate seamless integration between Houdini and other industry-standard tools like Autodesk Maya and Blender.

Strong leadership skills are essential for mentoring multiple artists simultaneously, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills for effective collaboration and project success.

A solid understanding of 3D modeling, lighting, and rendering techniques, as well as compositing principles using Nuke, is mandatory. Additionally, proficiency in English and a passion for teaching are crucial attributes for this role.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with Houdini, preferably in film or animation productions. A strong portfolio showcasing creative approach and technical expertise is also required.
