We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Verto, a leading fintech company. Located in Emerging markets, we help businesses reach the world by providing easy payment and liquidity solutions.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building out our best-in-class Data Platform. Your key responsibilities will include improving our existing Data Warehouse, implementing a CI/CD framework, and enabling core technologies such as dbt and git.

Your expertise in Data Engineering will drive measurable impact as you conceptualize, maintain, and improve the data architecture, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems.

You will design, build, and launch collections of data models that support multiple use cases across different products or domains, solving challenging data integration problems, optimising ELT pipelines, frameworks, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources.

In this role, you will also implement a CI/CD framework, create and contribute to frameworks that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and general data integrity, and design and execute 'best-in-class' schema design.

Additionally, you will implement other potential data tools, define and manage refresh schedules, load-balancing, and SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and data analysts to understand data needs, identify and resolve issues, and help set best practices for efficient data capture.

You'll be responsible for taking ownership of the data engineering process, from project scoping, design, communication, execution, and conclusion, supporting and strengthening data infrastructure together with the data team and engineering, and supporting the organisation in understanding the importance of data and advocating for best-in-class infrastructure.

To succeed in this role, you should have a university degree in data engineering, software engineering, computer science-engineering, numerate, or similar, plus 4 years of data engineering experience or equivalent.

You should have expert experience building data warehouses and ETL pipelines, SQL, Python, Git, dbt, and AWS stack (Athena, Redshift, Glue, Cloudwatch), significant experience of Automation and Integrations tools (Zapier, FiveTran, Airflow, Astronomer), IoC tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).

The salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
