This position is a cybersecurity professional responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats within an organization's IT infrastructure. They act as the first line of defense against cyberattacks.

  • Responsibilities include demonstrating proficiency in Schellman Methodology, guiding associates and peers, obtaining certifications, running projects from fieldwork through completion, understanding and speaking to service lines at a high level, demonstrating proficiency of SOC 1 GITCs and each Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy SOC 2 criteria, demonstrating understanding of Principal Service Commitments and System Requirements, knowing all four report opinion outcomes, drafting modified opinions, identifying exceptions that could potentially yield qualified opinions, demonstrating self-organization, looking ahead to future projects, preparing accordingly, reading STMV quarterly, applying concepts of sampling methodology, TA language structure, exception wording, reviewing AS 2.0 Reference Guide, applying concepts, reviewing EWP WP Guidance, obtaining CCSK and pursuing second certification, understanding differences between SOC 1 and SOC 2, participating on projects as a shadow or assessor for attestation offerings such as HIPAA, AUP, C5, understanding SOC 1 GITCs and each SOC 2 criteria for Security, Availability, and Confidentiality categories, articulating qualified vs unqualified opinion, learning Schellman's services and service line leaders, adhering to Associate Score Card, accurately managing and reporting time worked.

 

A strong knowledge of applicable technology and security domains is required. This role also requires excellent time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Schellman's service delivery applications is preferred. Full understanding and application of ethics, independence, and Schellman's values is essential.

 

Education and work experience requirements include a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management, technology, or other relevant subject area, or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Related professional services experience in information security auditing, assessment, consulting or compliance, focused on ITGC or SOC controls is necessary. Ability to work independently, within a team and with clients, as well as travel ~40-50% (M-Th) is also required. Maintaining or working towards obtaining one certification relevant to Schellman's services is preferred.
