This role is an exciting opportunity to work with Webologix Ltd/ INC as a Database Solutions Architect.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ to 10+ years of experience in designing and optimizing PostgreSQL database solutions, working collaboratively with software developers, data analysts, and stakeholders.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient database designs, translating data requirements into actionable solutions using SQL, PL/pgSQL, and PostgreSQL features.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to ensure data integrity and improve system performance.
  • Develop indexing strategies and query optimization techniques to enhance overall system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on best practices for database development and maintenance.
  • Create and maintain maintenance scripts for tasks such as backups, performance monitoring, and database optimization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) for data manipulation and querying.
  • Strong understanding of PL/SQL for developing stored procedures, triggers, and functions in PostgreSQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL features and functionalities, including advanced features such as partitioning, replication, and JSONB data types.
  • Experience with OLAP database schema design.
  • Ability to optimize SQL queries and database performance using techniques such as indexing, query tuning, and analyzing execution plans.
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices, including access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining maintenance scripts for tasks such as backups, monitoring, and performance optimization.
