Job Overview

We are seeking an expert in indirect tax advisory to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and researching skills, with the ability to provide in-depth research and analysis of legal provisions.

  • The successful candidate will draft advises, opinions, and compliance reports that meet the highest standards of quality.
  • They will also prepare Power Point presentations for client meetings, trainings, seminars, and other events.
  • Another key responsibility will be analyzing client data to estimate the tax impact on business transactions.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to build scenarios to identify the most tax-efficient business model.
  • They will contribute to the firm's knowledge management activities by writing articles, monographs, and other publications.

About the Role

  • As a client-facing professional, you will proactively identify and discuss technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues.
  • You will handle tax matters, including preparing submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representation during appeals, among other tasks.
  • You will execute work on multiple clients, assuming near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
  • Developing rapport with middle layers of client management is essential for this role.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and drafting skills are essential for success in this role.
  • A strong analytical and researching background is necessary for identifying and analyzing complex tax issues.
  • Proactivity, reliability, and attention to detail are vital for delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Experience and Education

  • A CA or Law Graduate from a known law school with a strong academic track record is required.
  • 0-2 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax in the field of litigation or advisory is preferred, with prior experience in indirect tax (i.e., GST and/or customs) being an advantage.
