Senior Chip Architect

The role of Senior Chip Architect involves leading the development of cutting-edge chip designs, leveraging extensive expertise to own overall architecture and execution.

  • Lead multi-block design integration by effectively managing complex interactions between various components.
  • Manage handoff and sign-off of key stages: RTL freeze, synthesis, place & route, static timing analysis, and DFT.
  • Drive IP integration, clocking strategy, power domain definition, and ensure seamless collaboration across functions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with multiple stakeholders to identify and mitigate design and schedule risks.
  • Engage with external IP vendors and EDA tool providers to drive innovation and optimize chip performance.

Education/Qualification:

  • Required - A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
  • Preferred - A Master's or PhD in VLSI Design, Microelectronics, or Computer Architecture can be advantageous.
  • Certifications - While not mandatory, advanced coursework or certification in SoC design or project management can be beneficial.

Competence/Certifications:

  • A strong background in digital IC design (RTL to GDSII) is necessary for success in this role.
  • System-level architecture and IP integration are also critical skills for the Senior Chip Architect.
  • Timing closure (STA) and power-performance-area (PPA) optimization are essential competencies for this position.
  • UPF/CPF for low-power design is a must-have skill, while familiarity with design for manufacturability, test (DFT), and silicon debug is highly desirable.
