Job Overview

As a senior leader, you will spearhead model development and testing for Moody's AXIS, encompassing quarterly updates, new business setups, and efficiency enhancements.

You will independently conduct thorough assessments and documentation of model changes, ensuring seamless communication with cross-functional teams.

Additionally, you will oversee quality control processes for junior team members, guaranteeing timely delivery of high-quality work products while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Primary point of contact for Testing, Valuation, and Risk Management teams regarding business and model-related inquiries.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in actuarial science/math/stats/engineering/computer science or equivalent quantitative field

Total 8-10 years of experience in US life insurance, with a minimum of 4-6 years dedicated to life/annuity actuarial modeling in Moody's AXIS

8-10 actuarial papers preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of US Life insurance, particularly Variable Annuity products (Fixed Indexed Annuity, Guaranteed Minimum Income/Death/Withdrawal benefits, Indexed Linked Annuities, Group Annuities, Payouts)
  • Strong understanding of US STAT/GAAP regulations (PBR, NY DFS Reg 213, LDTI DAC)
  • Advanced expertise in Actuarial modeling - Moody's AXIS, including scenario handling, formula tables, override applications, and awareness of significant switches in reserving assumption sets
  • Comprehensive understanding of AXIS cashflows and reserves on a first-principles basis
  • Proficiency in GGY AXIS modelling software, with excellent coding and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Hedging, Asset Liability modelling, and derivatives in Moody's AXIS is an added asset
  • Good working knowledge of relevant actuarial concepts and methodologies
  • Strong analytical ability and capacity to drive process and analytical improvement initiatives within the team
  • Excellent communication, execution, and people management skills
