Music Programming Role

We are seeking an experienced Music Programmer to lead our content strategy and curation efforts. This is a key role in shaping the overall direction of our music programming, ensuring that it aligns with business goals and meets the needs of our users.

  • Main Responsibilities
    • Create engaging playlists and curated collections that showcase diverse genres and moods, leveraging data insights to inform decisions.
    • Develop editorial calendars for campaigns and seasons, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of music trends across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, incorporating this knowledge into curation initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead a team of curators, playlist editors, or content managers, providing guidance and support to drive success.
    • Collaborate with Music Acquisition, A&R, Marketing, Product, and Data teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • User & Market Insights
    • Analyze user behavior and market trends to identify opportunities for growth, using data-driven insights to inform curation decisions.
    • Leverage analytics tools to track performance and iterate on strategies to optimize results.
  • Campaigns & Discovery
    • Drive thematic campaigns and initiatives that showcase new music, artists, and genres, optimizing playlist placements and homepage content for increased discovery and engagement.
    • Coordinate with marketing to execute artist spotlights, new release pushes, and seasonal rollouts, aligning with business goals and user needs.
  • Content Performance Monitoring
    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to gauge the effectiveness of playlists and curated collections, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
    • Test and refine strategies based on data-driven insights, applying a product mindset to drive continuous improvement.
    Requirements
    • 4–6 years of experience in music programming, editorial curation, or content strategy at a music-tech company, DSP, media platform, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of music genres, moods, and social media use cases.
    • Proven ability to lead curation initiatives across multiple genres and formats, with a keen sense of music discovery and audience needs.
    • Comfortable working with data to make content decisions; experience interpreting dashboards or using tools like Mixpanel is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, campaigns, and curation calendars.
    • A strong global music sensibility with the ability to spot trends across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
