Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



This position is responsible for leading the frontend architecture of large-scale e-commerce platforms. The successful candidate will have a strong background in frontend technologies, including JavaScript, React, and Next.js.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the frontend architecture of large-scale e-commerce platforms
  • Design and implement scalable and performant frontend solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with backend systems
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, adhering to industry best practices
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the industry
  • Participate in requirements-gathering workshops and contribute to the strategic direction of projects
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and code comments
  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and analysts to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Manage application architecture artifacts and ensure ongoing application rationalization and simplification of user experience
  • Develop and implement DevOps processes to improve development quality
  • Assess, review, and decide on all solution architecture designs
  • Deliver compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, environment management plans, and development policies
  • Establish and control technical definitions, rules, principles, and standards for teams
  • Manage technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements for applications built
  • Build Proofs-Of-Concept to illustrate possible technical solutions to stakeholders and technical staff
  • Establish and implement development patterns for technical staff to follow
  • Define and implement DevOps processes to improve development quality
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching for solution and integration teams
  • Assess, review, and decide on all solution architecture designs

Requirements:


  • 10-12 Years of strong experience in implementing large-scale, multi-country, multi-language e-commerce B2C web sites with expertise in JavaScript and hands-on exposure to React and Next.js
  • Proven experience in defining frontend architecture, design, and working with e-commerce as a backend engine
  • Must have led minimum one headless commerce implementation project across all SDLC phases
  • Knowledge of composable commerce stacks and a basic understanding of platforms like Salesforce or Commercetools
  • Lead/mentor/guide a team
  • Delivering compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, environment management plan, development policy, and participate in requirements-gathering workshops to influence the strategic direction of projects and lead business through solution design
  • Execution of best practice standards: design, coding, environment, data
  • Documenting any newly developed functionality in solution designs
  • Partnering end-to-end with product managers/owners, business stakeholders, and business analysts to understand customer requirements and process flows and translate them into Salesforce technology solutions
  • Managing all application architecture artifacts
  • Ongoing application rationalization and simplification of user experience
  • Demonstrate a strong command of technical details to translate proposed solutions into functional specifications with technical team
  • Manage technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements the applications built
  • Build Proofs-Of-Concept to illustrate possible technical solutions to stakeholders and technical staff
  • Establish and implement development patterns for technical staff to follow
  • Define and implement DevOps processes to improve development quality
  • Expert understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS, and CSS preprocessors such as LESS and SASS
  • Expert understanding of JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript, including frameworks such as React and Next with frameworks like Alokai as Frontend as a Service Stack
  • Expert understanding of headless or platform (SFCC, Magento, etc.) specific architecture
  • Knowledgeable in CMS, including headless CMS such as Builder.io or Contentful
  • 8-10+ years of commerce experience
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication
  • A keen eye for scope creep, solid judgment, and a pragmatic, collaborative approach to solving challenges of scope & budget
  • Expert understanding of command line build utilities and task runners like npm and webpack
  • Expert understanding of asynchronous requests, API integrations, partial page updates, SEO optimization & SSR, and page performance troubleshooting & optimization
  • Understanding usability concerns and experience in delivering standard, compliant, and accessible solutions (WCAG)
  • A commitment to documentation, consistency, reusability, and an eye for the big picture – approaching projects in ways that will grow and strengthen our practice
  • Expert level understanding of version control systems including Bitbucket
