Cloud Architect for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

We seek a seasoned Cloud Architect to design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native infrastructure on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role requires expertise in AKS architecture, automation, and governance.

About the Role:

  • Design and Architecture:
    • Create end-to-end architectures for AKS-based workloads in Azure.
    • Develop multi-environment, multi-region AKS architectures for high availability and disaster recovery.
    • Establish best practices for container orchestration, scaling, and governance in AKS.
  • Azure & AKS Expertise:
    • Architect and provision AKS clusters with features like cluster and node pool autoscaling, private cluster configuration, network isolation using Azure CNI / Kubenet, managed identities, and Azure AD integration.
    • Integrate AKS with supporting Azure services, including Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Container Registry (ACR), and Azure Key Vault.
  • DevOps & Automation:
    • Design Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for AKS provisioning.
    • Implement GitOps workflows, such as ArgoCD and Flux, for automated deployments.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Architect RBAC and Azure AD security models for AKS access.
    • Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks and governance policies.
  • Monitoring, Logging, & Observability:
    • Architect observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus, Container Insights, and Grafana.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Architecture, or related roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Azure experience, with deep AKS expertise.
  • Strong technical expertise in Kubernetes architecture, Azure networking, IaC tools, and container security and governance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience with service mesh architectures, such as Istio, Linkerd, or OSM.
  • Familiarity with multi-cluster management tools, like Azure Arc or Fleet.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to lead design workshops and architecture reviews.
