Job Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist role involves providing sourcing value within a Procurement Centre of Excellence for Canadian business, corporate, and IT spend categories.

  • This position entails identifying and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders to drive the sourcing process.
  • It requires executing the sourcing process to support clients on related governance requirements.
  • The role ensures all relevant governance processes/policies are adhered to and completed prior to final approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role supports and manages the sourcing process for high-volume low-risk engagements with a focus on prompt turnaround.
  • It leads clients through the sourcing process including contract negotiations and execution, risk and governance support, and approvals.
  • The incumbent assesses, defines, and resolves procurement issues including contractual terms and conditions and escalations by internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • This role applies project management concepts to the planning and execution of the sourcing process.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant sourcing/procurement experience is required.
  • The successful candidate will have proven expertise leading sourcing initiatives, processes, and developing strategies.
  • They will be able to work with internal stakeholders to drive the sourcing process.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty is essential.
  • Familiarity with vendor contract language, SAP Ariba Contracts and Sourcing Modules is necessary.
  • An understanding of general procurement challenges and solutions is also required.
  • The ability to work and align with internal legal counsel and other governance stakeholders is crucial.
