Project Cost Control Specialist Job Description

Are you an expert in budget planning and financial management? Do you have a knack for identifying opportunities and risks? We're looking for a skilled Project Cost Controller to join our team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets that drive project success.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project invoicing, tax issues, bonds, guarantees, financial accounting, and reporting. Optimize project cash flow, revenues, and GM contribution in collaboration with the Central Cost Controller/Project Manager.
  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify opportunities and risks, ensuring timely implementation of mitigation actions. Conduct regular project reviews jointly with the PM/Central Controller/PSCM.
  • Commercial Awareness: Foster commercial awareness within the project team and provide commercial input to the project execution plan.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with client requirements for invoices, payments, and various forms. Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing registers and perform weekly site expense monitoring.
  • Cash Flow Analysis: Analyze actual vs. budget costs and revenue on the project, highlighting potential issues to the controller manager and project managers.
  • Project Actualisation: Lead the activity of project actualisation (actua) at a defined frequency, coordinating with the project team to gather required data and preparing finance-related slides for presentation.
  • Kappa Review: Review Kappa against budgeted costs, highlighting deviations and ensuring adequate documentation is attached.
  • Monthly Business Review: Share project slides for monthly business review, following the timeline defined by the project team.
  • Provisions Check: Conduct a comprehensive check on provisions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with accounting rules and HO instructions.
  • Cash Verification: Perform monthly cash verification and surprise verification at least once a month, reporting results to the HO team.
  • Internal Financial Controls: Lead and supervise compliance with Internal Financial Controls (IFC) as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
  • Guarantees and Insurances: Monitor ABG, PBG, and other guarantees, insurances to ensure timely renewal and reduction according to contractual conditions.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Team Support: Provide support to the execution team, becoming a core finance resource for all finance-related matters on site.
  • Timesheet Management: Timely fill man days for self and check that staff timesheets are filled properly.
  • Site Accountant Supervision: Supervise the day-to-day work of the site accountant, providing guidance and support for efficient conduct of site tasks.
