Linux Systems Engineer - Cloud Computing Expertise

Job Description

As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison between Infrastructure and Delivery Teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and standardization of Cloud Services. Your responsibilities will include investigating and resolving complex technical issues, including Windows and Linux operating system installations, logical volume management, and server health monitoring.

Key tasks will involve administering user authorization and access control, deploying and managing servers within AWS/Azure cloud environments, and configuring firewall settings in EC2. You will also develop and maintain servers using Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) and AWS CloudFormation templates for consistent deployments.

Additionally, you will manage AWS services such as Relational Database Service (RDS), Route 53, and Elastic/Application Load Balancers (ELB/ALB). Implementing and managing user access policies and permissions using AWS IAM is also essential.

Performance of Linux file system and disk management tasks, network configuration, and execution of server decommissioning and patching procedures are critical components of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong analytical skills with proven ability to perform root cause analysis are necessary. In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, administration, and support are required.

Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, specifically AWS or Azure, as well as virtualization platforms like VMware, is crucial. A solid understanding of directory services such as Active Directory and LDAP is also essential.

Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's, Master's degree, or equivalent graduate studies.
