Cloud Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to lead the implementation of scalable infrastructure via code and provide strategic advice/recommendations for the development and advancement of Microsoft Azure technologies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions using industry-standard tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and automation of standardised Azure deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for level three Azure-related issues, as well as mentoring and training for operational run teams.
  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relevant documentation for design, development, build, and deployment methods.
  • Ensure proper storage and management of applicable code.
  • Offer expertise and assistance to all support teams.
  • Contribute to security hardening and testing efforts.

Key Competencies:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with certifications in Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven experience working as a cloud engineer on Azure Cloud.
  • Familiarity with PySpark and Azure Data Factory.
  • In-depth knowledge of public cloud environments and industry trends.
  • Significant experience supporting, designing, and developing public cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Extensive DevOps experience.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating accurate documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard office hours and weekends as needed.
