About Lady Andal House of Children
Lady Andal House of Children is an established special school in Chennai, founded by The Madras Seva Sadan. Centrally located on a scenic campus, it provides special education and vocational training for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome.
The school offers pre-vocational and vocational training programmes, including the NIOS curriculum, supported by a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals providing physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a skilled Music Teacher who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education. The ideal candidate must have expertise in designing and implementing music lessons that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities.
- Plan and Deliver Lessons: Design and implement music lessons that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities.
- Use Adaptive Techniques: Utilise assistive technologies, visual aids, instruments, and alternative communication methods to support student participation.
- Encourage Expression and Communication: Promote music as a means of self-expression, communication, and emotional regulation.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Carnatic/Hindustani Music, Certificate course in Music Therapy (preferred)
- 3 to 7 years of working with children in a mainstream school/ Special school
- Teaching qualification or experience in special education (Preferred)
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and adaptive music education
- Ability to play an instrument and facilitate group music singing
