Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Interior Cockpit Engineer to lead the development of interior trims and cockpit console commodities. The successful candidate will have proven project management capabilities, extensive experience in right-first-time development, and excellent communication skills.

This role involves leading the engineering team in the design, development, and integration of interior trims and cockpit console commodities. You will also be responsible for managing system, sub-system, and component costs through utilization of engineering knowledge and decision-making process.

  • Lead the engineering team in the design, development, and integration of interior trims and cockpit console commodities.
  • Manage system, sub-system, and component costs.
  • Establish and maintain teamwork plans aligned to vehicle programs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of systems, sub-systems, and components.
  • Develop and maintain design validation plans, including in-house and supplier testing plans.
  • Lead failure mode avoidance activities, including DFMEA, quality history reviews, and DFA/DFM reviews.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure system/component delivery to vehicle program timing and attribute targets.
  • Support purchasing teams in sourcing and RFQ activities.
  • Support vehicles launch and pre-production builds.
  • Ensure effective application of APQP to manage system/component delivery.
  • Deliver PSW through planning from project start to sign off.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in interior trims and cockpit console commodities development.
  • Proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery in line with time, cost, quality & attribute targets.
  • Detailed engineering knowledge of design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
  • Ability to manage and challenge system, sub-system, and component costs.
  • Excellent communication skills with cross-functional teams and influencing at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, and Word.
