DeepTech Researcher

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-driven professional to join our team as an Investment Analyst.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and researching DeepTech startups across India's academic and research ecosystem.

• Proactively identify potential investment opportunities, building relationships with technology incubators, accelerators, and bankers.
• Conduct market landscaping, sector mapping, and pipeline development, tracking trends in science-based innovation and breakthrough technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Research

• Evaluate the technological readiness, business models, intellectual property, and founder-market fit of potential investments.
• Support technical and commercial due diligence in collaboration with domain experts.
• Prepare detailed investment reports and present findings to the investment committee.

Portfolio Support

• Work closely with founders to track milestones, financials, and fundraising readiness.
• Assist in developing post-investment value creation plans.
• Coordinate with incubators, labs, and academic networks for technical support.

Fund Operations

• Support the preparation of investment documentation and ensure compliance.
• Maintain internal databases (deal flow, portfolio, LP reporting inputs).
• Assist in preparing presentations for LPs, partners, and ecosystem engagements.

Requirements:

• A detail-driven individual with a mix of technical depth and financial capability.
• A degree in science, engineering, finance, economics, or business; candidates with dual exposure are strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Understanding of finance, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
• Prior exposure to VC, private equity, investment banking, or startup ecosystems is preferable but not mandatory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, resourceful mindset and comfort working in unstructured, early-stage environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Curious and mission-driven individual with a passion for DeepTech sectors.
• Strong understanding of TRL stages and commercial viability of research.
