The Kindle Delivery team is looking for a leader to manage the development of core customer experiences on devices and apps.

This role involves guiding an engineering team to define, develop, deploy, and operate applications on various devices to deliver an immersive reading experience for global customers.

A successful candidate will have a track record of building diverse and high-performing teams that invent, build, and operate high-quality software at scale in a global organization.

This position requires excellent project management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, great empathy and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the overall systems development life cycle of key products
  • Executing against project plans and delivery commitments
  • Managing day-to-day activities of an engineering team in an agile environment
  • Working closely with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and others to design and architect products and technical solutions aligned with the goals and vision
  • Managing departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and growing the careers of a best-in-class engineering team
About This Role

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and architect innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

You will be responsible for managing the development of core customer experiences on devices and apps, working closely with engineers, product managers, and UX designers to ensure alignment with company goals.

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of team management experience
  • 5+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers
