Technical Artist Job Description

The Technical Artist is responsible for implementing user interface designs in Unity for PC, mobile, and augmented/virtual reality platforms. This role involves collaborating with designers, engineers, and 3D artists to ensure visually stunning and responsive user experiences.

  • Work with engineering teams to implement UI features such as layouts, menu flows, animations, and more in Unity.
  • Optimize UI performance for seamless user experiences.
  • Develop micro animations in Unity using techniques such as tweening.
  • Create custom shaders and optimize particle systems in Unity.
  • Work with 3D assets, including creation, texturing, and rigging.
  • Collaborate with designers to build UX prototypes in Unity.
  • Write scripts to integrate UI elements with the overall system.
  • Maintain a robust prefab library.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Four to five years of work experience as a technical artist.

  • A portfolio showcasing example projects.
  • Strong experience with Unity, especially in UI implementation.
  • Proficiency in creating custom shaders and working with particle systems.
  • Experience with lighting and rendering in Unity.
  • Knowledge of micro animations in Unity.
  • Basic programming skills in C#.
  • Familiarity with UX design principles and prototyping.
  • Basic proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Maya/Blender.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
