Embedded Firmware Development Expert

  • Generic Embedded Firmware Development Skills:

We are seeking an expert in firmware development for our team. This position requires a strong background in C programming, as well as experience with various processor and microcontroller architectures such as Cortex-A series and ARM series processors.

The ideal candidate will have working experience in bare metal, RTOS, and device driver development, as well as architecting embedded systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with good debugging skills and hands-on experience with coding and tool usage, are also essential.

Auditory expertise is also required, including technical depth in acoustics, electronics, and DSP. Basic understanding of physics of sound and acoustic transducer/component parameters and test methods is necessary. Working with audio data handling/processing from microphone, knowledge of audio test systems/equipment/tools for Audio performance and quality testing, and familiarity with digital audio interfaces/formats (SPDIF, I2S, PCM, PDM,TDM) are all important.

Test/verification of electrical design for high volume audio product is also required. Experience performing design verification for high-volume products in an engineering lab environment would be a plus. DSP software development approaches and knowledge would also be beneficial.

In addition to technical skills, excellent written and verbal communication is required, as direct customer interaction will be necessary. The ability to write high-quality, efficient, extensible, and maintainable code in a fast-paced Agile environment is also essential. Participating in feature and designs discussions within and across teams, evangelizing and informing with well-written design documents, conducting peer-reviews, reviewing code, developing documentation, and capacity plans, and debugging the hardest problems live on some of the most innovative IoT devices are all key responsibilities.
