Animal Cruelty Investigator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled investigator to conduct thorough examinations of animal cruelty cases in various sectors, including animal experimentation, food production, clothing manufacture, entertainment, and labour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive investigations into animal cruelty incidents, incorporating desk research, site visits, and data collection
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry representatives, and animal welfare experts
• Compile detailed reports of findings, featuring photographs, videos, and other supporting documentation
• Collaborate with in-house counsel and subject matter experts to assess evidence and develop strategies for exposing animal cruelty
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Requirements:

• Strong background in investigative work or a related field
• Basic knowledge of veterinary medicine or experience is desirable
• Fluency in English and Hindi, with proficiency in other Indian languages an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Diligent attention to detail, with ability to manage stressful situations and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as an honorary animal welfare representative or similar role
• Knowledge of animal protection laws and PETA India campaigns
• Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods, if required
