Workday Security Specialist

 

The Workday Security Specialist will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and advising on security within the Workday application.

This includes domain security policies, roles, and role assignments to ensure the integrity of company data.

The specialist will also coordinate with vendors to understand new technology scope and association with new functionality and security.

They will develop and maintain awareness of divisional and data security, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

The specialist will participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards are met.

They will stay updated on new security features within the application's future roadmap and implement them where possible.

The specialist will perform audits on system roles and access logs to ensure accuracy and demonstrate proof of security controls during internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain security within the Workday application to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Advise on security policies, roles, and role assignments to ensure optimal security settings.
  • Coordinate with vendors to understand new technology scope and association with new functionality and security to identify potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of divisional and data security to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Participate in report reviews to ensure security and data privacy standards are met.
  • Stay updated on new security features within the application's future roadmap to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform audits on system roles and access logs to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrate proof of security controls during internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Solid understanding of Workday security features and controls to ensure secure configuration.
  • Knowledge of SOX and data privacy regulations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to accurately collect information to understand and assess clients' needs and situation to provide effective advice.
  • Working knowledge of HR/Finance information systems, data models organization structures, and roles to ensure seamless integration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with functional and IT clients effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate identification of security risks.
  • Comfortable enforcing adherence to security policies and practices to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills to resolve complex security issues effectively.
