As a highly skilled Laboratory Instructor, you will play a key role in delivering hands-on training to students in our School of Allied and Healthcare Professions.

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to maintain laboratory equipment, and strong instructional capabilities. They should also be proficient in handling various types of equipment.

The successful candidate will conduct laboratory sessions, prepare and evaluate practical skills aligned with curriculum standards, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Additionally, they will collaborate with faculty members to develop laboratory content that complements theoretical components of the course.

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Cardiac Care Technology, or Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology from a recognized university. A Master's Degree or additional certifications are also desirable.

Applicants should have at least two years of relevant experience in a laboratory/clinical setting or academic institution. Prior experience in academic instruction is highly valued.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and supervising laboratory sessions for undergraduate students
  • Preparing, demonstrating, and evaluating practical skills
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and inventory
  • Enforcing safety protocols and infection control measures
  • Collaborating with faculty members to develop laboratory content
  • Providing technical support to students during skill development and internal assessments
  • Participating in curriculum review and development of new laboratory manuals
  • Maintaining documentation for laboratory sessions, stock registers, and compliance audits
  • Facilitating internal and external practical examinations and simulations
