Web Application Security Expert

We are seeking a skilled Web Application Security expert to join our team.
The role involves deploying and maintaining web application security controls across the firm's internet-facing applications. This encompasses a broad range of technologies, including homegrown software, third-party solutions, open-source products, appliances, and auxiliary services.
The successful candidate will work closely with global tech functions to onboard web applications to our Web Application Firewall (WAF). Responsibilities include reviewing logs, implementing tuning, and configuring blocking for onboarded applications.
A key aspect of this role is collaborating with service owners and associated teams to gather relevant data for WAF migration purposes. Additionally, the candidate will analyze web behavior and performance to establish acceptable thresholds and perform policy tuning accordingly.
Other responsibilities include participating in proof-of-concept testing for new security capabilities, change management, incident response, and root cause analysis. A strong background in network security, particularly web application firewalls and their role in layered defense-in-depth strategies, is essential.
Preferred skills include experience with Akamai or equivalent platforms such as Radware, Imperva, Shape Security, or CloudFlare. Proficiency in onboarding web services into WAFs and managing the lifecycle from monitor to mitigation modes is also desirable.
We are looking for an individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, who can effectively communicate with application owners and stakeholders. Strong collaboration skills and understanding of ITIL processes are required.
