Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Cloud Monitoring Specialist, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud-based systems. As part of our team, you will be tasked with monitoring Helix Cloud Service using BMC Software Tooling via Alerting systems.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for impact situations and escalation, working closely with the wider team to resolve issues efficiently. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, and you will need to ensure that regular updates are provided to maintain transparency.

As a key member of our team, you will provide Tier 1 level troubleshooting and isolation of application events, using your analytical skills to quickly assess business and technical situations and make informed decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will need to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a strong background in cloud-based or IT industry experience. You should have a BS/BE degree in CS/EE or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role. Your proficiency in Kubernetes-K8, Rancher, Linux, Database MSSQL and Postgres is also essential.

Other key responsibilities include identifying opportunities for improvement and offering viable recommendations/options, as well as mentoring and knowledge sharing across the team. Key Skills and Qualifications
  • BS/BE degree in CS/EE or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a cloud-based or IT industry equivalent
  • Kubernetes-K8, Rancher, Linux, Database MSSQL and Postgres
  • Troubleshooting skills with considerable depth and experience
  • Experience working at a Help Desk, Technical Call Center, NOC or equivalent environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of BMC-Remedy Products is an added advantage
  • Directory Service/LDAP, specifically Active Directory/SAML but not essential
  • Networking experience desired: working knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP, firewall, proxy, etc.
  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) foundation certification is a plus
