Creative Storyteller and Cultural Ambassador

Pocket FM is seeking a highly skilled Creative Storyteller and Cultural Ambassador to lead the creative adaptation process of foreign stories for our Indian audience.

About the Role:

We are looking for a visionary who can bring cultural authenticity, maintain storytelling quality, and drive the overall creative direction of each adaptation. This role will play a critical part in creating shows that become Pocket's next blockbuster.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creative adaptation process, ensuring that foreign stories are culturally relevant for the Indian audience while retaining the essence of the original.
  • Identify and recruit the right writers and producers via the right processes, including their existing network and/or pool of talent at Pocket.
  • Hold the overall plot by collaborating with writers and producers to bring the creative vision to life, making sure it resonates with Indian listeners.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure voice-over artists capture the intended tone and emotion of the characters.
  • Approve the final audio production to ensure the highest creative and audio quality.
  • Take full ownership of the audio that goes live on the platform, ensuring the quality meets our high standards.
  • Understand data and derive insights to make informed decisions on show performance.
  • Train writers and producers to ensure best output.
  • Own the names of the shows and posters/thumbnails.
  • Create and approve episodic planning and line-ups.
  • Be able to read and understand long novels that need to be adapted.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Indian culture, folklore, and storytelling styles.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for details.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between creative and technical teams.
  • Strong sense of narrative pacing, tone, and immersive sound design.
  • Ability to take data-driven decisions.
  • Strong network to hire the right people for the shows.
  • High rigor to ensure creative vision is followed across multiple teams.
  • To be able to justify the WHY for every creative decision.
  • English and Hindi language proficiency: speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Decode the essence of characters, character arcs, story, storytelling, plots, conflict, and longevity.
  • Have the ability to edit if required.

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in the TV, OTT space; experience in mainstream TV is important.
  • Experience with broadcast channels is preferred.
  • Experience of casting & production at OTT/Radio channel.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of ₹1200000 - 1500000 per annum, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Note:This is a contractual role.
