Job Description

The role of the Senior Data Analyst is to provide high-level analytical support across various projects, clients, and therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for manipulating large databases and generating reports to enable analysts to explore real-world healthcare data assets. The ideal candidate must have excellent analytical skills in SAS and SQL, as well as the ability to implement complex logic.

Candidates should be comfortable creating complex analysis datasets derived from various data sources with attention to outliers and errors. Prior experience building patient cohorts and evaluating patient healthcare events in large databases using observational research methods such as epidemiology and statistical methods is highly desirable.

  • SAS or R programming skills are essential.
  • We are open to any therapeutic area experience, but expertise in rare diseases is a plus.
  • Real-world healthcare claims database experience is required; equivalent EU database experience to US Market scan/Optum is acceptable.
  • OMOP-Common Data Model experience is a significant advantage; even 1 year of experience with this model is beneficial.
  • SQL querying and extracting skills are crucial.
  • Strong communication, time management, enthusiasm, and documentation skills are necessary for this position.

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate should be proficient in R and SQL programming and have expertise in oncology databases such as Flatiron and COTA.

Candidate should also have good understanding of oncology-specific analyses like Line of Therapy algorithms, Survival analysis, different statistical models.

R Shiny or Instant Health Data (IHD) experience is preferred.

Candidate should have experience with Analytic Datasets, patient cohorts, and perform work in compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, procedures, and training.

Lead internal and client study team meetings effectively, present study updates internally and at client meetings, share scientific, technical, and practical knowledge within the team and with colleagues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other subject with high statistical content.
  • Minimum 7-8 years SAS statistical programming experience.
  • Database programming using SQL.
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods like survival and regression.
  • Experience with real-world healthcare claims and EHR data such as MarketScan, Optum, and Medicare databases.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other subject with high statistical content.
  • Training or experience using the OMOP common data model.
  • Training or experience with Python, R, Databricks, or other cloud-based software.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Training or experience in epidemiological methods.
