Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

As a Cloud Solutions Architect at The Metromax Group, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and Implementing Cloud Architectures: Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud architectures for a wide range of applications using AWS services.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Work with development, DevOps, and data teams to architect cloud-native applications and microservices that leverage AWS services.
  • Leading Cloud Migration Strategies: Lead the migration of on-premises applications and data to AWS, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Developing Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for cloud operations, including cost optimization, monitoring, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance.
  • Creating Infrastructure as Code: Design and manage cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK (Cloud Development Kit).
  • Maintaining Security: Integrate AWS security services (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, etc.) to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
  • Implementing Data Solutions: Architect and implement data lake and analytics solutions using AWS services like S3, Glue, Redshift, and Athena.
  • Managing Resources: Optimize AWS resources for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, EKS, and S3.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, Elasticsearch, and third-party tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree: A degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in Cloud Architecture: 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in AWS.
  • AWS Knowledge: Strong understanding of AWS services and architectures, including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, Route 53, and more.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in IaC with tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Networking and Security: Expertise in networking, security, and IAM within AWS, including VPC design, encryption, security groups, and roles/policies.
  • Automation and DevOps: Proficiency in automation and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and orchestration using AWS services and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Code Pipeline.
  • Databases and Storage: Familiarity with databases and storage solutions on AWS, including RDS, S3, and Glacier.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: AWS Certified Security Specialist or AWS Certified Big Data certification is preferred.
  • Hybrid Cloud Experience: Experience with hybrid cloud architectures integrating on-premises and AWS environments is desired.
  • Cloud Cost Management: Knowledge of cloud cost management strategies and tools like AWS Cost Explorer or Trusted Advisor is a plus.
  • Machine Learning: Familiarity with machine learning frameworks & AWS AI services (e.g SageMaker, Recognition) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, strong organizational and multitasking skills, and leadership and mentoring skills are essential.
