Dam Break Analysis Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive dam safety assessments, developing and implementing emergency action plans, and providing technical expertise to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough dam safety inspections and assess potential risks
  • Develop and implement emergency action plans to mitigate potential hazards
  • Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders on dam safety and emergency response procedures
  • Lead the preparation and finalization of Tier-I documents following industry standards and best practices
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation meetings and review plans presented by Project Support Teams (PSTs)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering degree with post-graduate degree in Hydraulic or Hydrology
  • At least 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling using advanced tools like MIKE, HEC_HMS, etc.
  • Proven track record of conducting flood routing studies, dam break analysis, and inundation mapping
  • Experience in preparing Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and integrated operation of cascade reservoirs
  • Strong understanding of national guidelines, international best practices, and BIS Codes
