Electrical Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Manager to join our team. This is a full-time role that involves working with clients to provide technical expertise in EHV and HV cable design.

  • This includes the technical review of sourcing requests from internal customers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • The design of cables for EHV and HV applications, taking into account factors such as safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • An engineering degree preferably in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in EHV or HV cable design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical review of sourcing requests from internal customers.
  • Design of cables for EHV and HV applications.
  • Supporting internal customers to optimize their sourcing requests.
  • Reviewing cable inquiries from customers and converting them into cable sourcing requests.
  • Performing technical clarifications with suppliers to resolve any queries or concerns.
  • Conducting short circuit calculations using Excel.
  • Performing ampacity calculations using CYMCAP.
  • Conducting drum length calculations using an Excel-based tool.
  • Checking and accepting technical data sheets from suppliers.
  • Recording prequalification and type test coverage of the cables offered by suppliers.
  • Ensuring that all documents provided to external customers are aligned with the marketing strategy.
  • Preparing Quality Control Plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Preparing the technical part of contracts and reviewing Quality Records from suppliers.
  • Witnessing in-process, routine, and sample tests.
  • Preparing type tests and identifying areas for improvement.
