Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Audio Expert to join our team at 8bit.ai as a Lead Data Scientist. This is a full-time on-site customer-facing role located in Hyderabad.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients to elicit their needs and develop innovative algorithms and applications using advanced expertise in Speech and Audio.
  • Translate state-of-the-art AI research into sustainable software that exceeds scalability and reliability benchmarks in a production environment.
  • Strengthen the symbiosis between engineering and data science teams, promoting collective responsibility for project outcomes, delivery, and shared learning.
  • Exercise full responsibility for delivering high-quality code and thoroughly tested machine learning models, adhering to predetermined deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements in AI and machine learning, incorporating this knowledge into team practices and strategic planning.
  • Mentor freshers and interns.
Requirements/Eligibility

Educational background and industry experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience or a Master's degree accompanied by 2 to 4 years of industry experience.
  • PhD freshers can also apply.
  • The degree should be in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Engineering from a premier institute.
Technical Requirements
  • Industrial experience in steering and executing AI and ML projects with a focus on Speech and Audio.
  • Extensive proficiency in Python programming and integrating advanced software engineering techniques into AI system design.
  • Experience with relevant libraries such as Librosa, PyDub, SoundFile, torchaudio, Kaldi, ESPnet, WeNet, SpeechBrain.
  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Lead the research, design, development, and evaluation of speech and audio processing models.
  • Analyze large datasets of speech and audio data.
  • Deep understanding of signal processing, acoustics, machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modelling.
  • Prior experience with machine learning lifecycle management tools and major cloud service providers' ML environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative setting and showcase a history of successfully partnering with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, paired with a proven ability to navigate complex projects autonomously or as part of a team.
