About the Role

Alstom is seeking a highly skilled Safety Assurance Engineer to join our team in leading the development and implementation of safety assurance strategies for our CBTC Signalling Projects. As a key member of our Safety Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our projects and products, and for developing and maintaining safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all safety assurance activities on the CBTC System for the project, ensuring compliance with safety processes and procedures.
  • Perform safety analysis, manage hazard logs, and review RAM, Cyber, V&V, and T&C activities from a safety perspective.
  • Define safety plans and manage safety workloads and associated planning.
  • Support tenders and/or RC teams to integrate products/systems into projects.
  • Build safety reports and/or safety cases.
  • Apply safety assurance methodologies, including risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification, and validation.
  • Organize and attend periodic safety reviews.
  • Defend safety case argumentations in front of internal and external assessors, and define and follow-up action plans to close findings.
  • Manage safety assurance engineers involved on the project/system/product.
  • Manage 8D steps as per process if identified as safety leader for a safety issue.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of successful experience in safety assurance, including 2 years in the railway industry.
  • Experience in management is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Cenelec standards for safety and safety methodology and concepts/principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
