Embedded Software Engineer for Automotive IVI and Cockpit Applications

At Renesas Electronics, we are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop cutting-edge software solutions for automotive IVI and cockpit applications on the Renesas R-Car SoC devices.
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced software engineer with a strong background in embedded systems development using C++/Python. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of automotive technologies related to cockpit, cluster, and infotainment systems, including graphics, audio, display, and camera technologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and defining IVI and cockpit use cases leveraging R-Car SoC and software infrastructure. They will collaborate with sales, automotive product line marketing, and applications engineers to generate winning reference software and application demos.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and extending the support of reference applications, HW accelerator use cases, and other connectivity applications;
- Conducting benchmarks related to industry standards to emphasize the competitiveness of our current and future platforms;
- Providing support to customers as an application engineer to accelerate the development of customer solutions and create easy-to-use collateral such as application notes and reference solutions;
- Working closely with hardware and software product development organizations to validate the performance of SoC products and optimize various aspects, including computation, operational, and power.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 10+ years of industry experience in embedded system software development using C++/Python, including low-level firmware, kernel, and user space components on an SoC product comparable to the Renesas R-Car family;
- Strong hands-on knowledge of automotive technologies related to cockpit, cluster, and infotainment systems, including graphics, audio, display, and camera technologies;
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Android, with knowledge of at least one other automotive operation systems expected (QNX, AUTOSAR, etc.);
- Familiarity with automotive safety concepts, including ISO26262 and Freedom from Interference;
- Strong knowledge of display and graphics IPs, such as GPUs, compositors, display pipelines, and other related hardware IPs and software frameworks;
- Strong knowledge of audio IPs, such as audio DSPs, audio connections, and related SW frameworks;
- Ability to develop and debug on both real hardware and simulation and emulation environments;
- Software debugging skills, including CLI, PCB, and application-level debug techniques;
- Ability to debug high-speed communication interfaces, including HW/SW co-debug.
