As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems from initial conception through construction, final testing, and throughout the system's lifecycle. Your role will involve ensuring that designs meet customer specifications, national and international standards, and sound engineering practices.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing customer specifications and identifying project scope
  • Following departmental and project management office processes
  • Generating project documents and drawings
  • Engineering design, including freezing project basic design, generating P&IDs, mechanical equipment lists, and general arrangement drawings
  • Performing piping structural analysis and collaborating with mechanical designers/engineers on design changes
  • Engaging with customers, including responding to queries, resolving deviations, and ensuring quality of project documentation
  • Preparing enquiry data sheets and material requisitions for long-lead mechanical items
  • Reviewing sub-vendor offers and drawings/documents
  • Handling sub-vendor relationships, including follow-up, design review meetings, and addressing customer concerns
  • Maintaining quality records and monitoring mechanical work progress on projects
  • Participating in pre-FAT and FAT activities with customers
  • Creating as-built documentation and handing over to services teams
  • Performing pressure drop/head loss calculations, pipe wall thickness calculations, lifting lug calculations, and other related tasks
  • Providing technical support to engineering, quality, purchasing, and project management teams
  • Reporting project status updates and variations in scope to project managers

For this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering
  • Validated experience in piping, oil and gas, and process industries
  • Good knowledge of oil and gas industry equipment, instruments, piping, and structural work
  • Strong understanding of various types of meters for gas and liquid measurement, ASME, ANSI, API, API MPMS, ISO, and other relevant industry standards
  • Knowledge of piping structural welding and non-destructive testing
  • Experience with meter and prover sizing
  • Ability to perform stress analysis using CAESER-II/STAAD or equivalent software packages
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a determined approach
  • Excellent communication and drawing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Drive and ability to deliver effective and innovative solutions
