Job Summary

We seek a seasoned Backend Developer to join our team, responsible for designing, developing and maintaining backend systems that support maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create scalable, maintainable and efficient software architecture to meet business requirements.
  • Take ownership of the product lifecycle from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices including comprehensive unit tests for high-quality code.
  • Develop reusable, modular code and libraries for efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Maintain technical documentation for all systems and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in web application and API development using frameworks like Django/Flask.
  • Expertise in secure software development and sensitive data handling.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development – requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repositories and Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture with a focus on performance.
  • Familiarity with caching techniques and utilities like Memcache/Redis.
  • Experience working on web/app servers like Apache/Nginx.
  • Containerization tool experience – Docker.
  • Enterprise-level deployment and scaling experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to write reusable code and libraries for improved efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Competencies:

  • Troubleshooting complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing optimal solutions.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, sensitive data handling and data protection regulations compliance.
