The successful Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for preparing examination rooms, administering radio-pharmaceuticals, and positioning patients and equipment.
- Examination Room Preparation: Ensure examination rooms are prepared to accommodate patient examinations.
- Radio-Pharmaceutical Administration: Administer radio-pharmaceuticals as required, following established protocols.
- Patient Positioning: Position patients and equipment to ensure optimal scanning conditions.
- Scan Sequencing: Insert commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences.
- Monitoring Patient Safety: Monitor patients during examinations to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Image Production: Produce diagnostic images and report important information to Physicians.
- Procedure Scheduling: Organize daily procedure schedules for emergencies.
- Radiographic Supplies Management: Monitor radiographic supplies and maintain a sufficient inventory.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions and providing pre-procedure advice.
To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles and procedures is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field and relevant work experience in a healthcare setting. Certification from a recognized professional organization, such as the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), is highly desirable.
