Job Title: Financial Services Tax Manager

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Services Tax Manager to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of complex tax returns for financial services clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze complex tax returns, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Fund of Funds, blocker corporation returns, and S-Corporation returns prepared by staff or senior personnel.
  • Assess and advise on state returns for financial services clients.
  • Identify international filing requirements through organizational chart studies and review international tax returns.
  • Train new joiners on tax concepts and technology, providing timely feedback on each project reviewed.
  • Supervise kick-off calls to understand client needs, facilitate regular connections with US counterparts, and intervene in budget and resource conflicts.
  • Guide staff and seniors on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate performance, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and high-quality deliverables through consistent learning and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Ability to conduct independent tax research in unseen scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner, enthusiastic, positive demeanor, and team player.
  • Prepared to work extended hours during busy season times.
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks based on project urgency.
  • Skilled at multitasking and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective in training and supervising staff and achieving timely results.
  • Ability to guide subordinates through technical challenges.
  • Build strong working relationships with peers, supervisors, and US colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant (US), or IRS Enrolled Agent.
  • Experience in detailed review of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and Case ware.
  • Relevant experience of more than 8+ years with significant experience in financial services returns.
