We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. As an integral part of this group, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing new features and capabilities for our microservices backend.

The R&D group is building and delivering the enablement platform for media experiences in personalization, content interaction, and social interaction, all of which are at the core of DAZN's value proposition. This includes integrating with video and audio live/VOD assets, personalized processing, and distribution across the world to end-users, while allowing collaboration among users in real-time.

As our new Backend Engineer, you will:

  • Plan, design, and develop our company's platform.
  • Maintain and improve existing infrastructure, tools, and workflows.
  • Ensure quality SW delivery through automated component testing, E2E testing, and performance testing.
  • Explore and recommend innovative approaches to improve platform performance and scalability.

We are looking for a talented individual with:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering from a leading university.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a Software/Backend Engineer in Python.
  • Strong understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases, leveraging data modelling solution for scalability and performance.
  • Strong experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture, including REST APIs and message queues.

A strong team player with a collaborative mindset and fluent written and verbal English communication skills is essential. Experience in CI/CD environments, Infrastructure as Code development, and familiarity with Agile methodologies are considered advantages.
