Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Credit Management Specialist to lead and manage our credit control function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, minimizing bad debts, and maintaining healthy cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures to minimize risk and maximize collections.
  • Evaluate new and existing customer creditworthiness through financial analysis and credit scoring.
  • Approve or recommend credit limits and payment terms based on thorough assessments.

Credit Management

The Credit Management Specialist will be responsible for managing the entire credit management lifecycle, from initial assessment to final collection. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing effective credit control policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer transactions and payments.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with customer creditworthiness.

Collaboration and Communication

The Credit Management Specialist will work closely with various stakeholders, including sales, legal, and customer service teams, to resolve credit issues and support customer relationships. This includes:

  • Communicating effectively with customers to resolve disputes and collect outstanding amounts.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Providing regular updates and insights to senior management on credit performance and trends.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in credit management, preferably in a leadership or team management capacity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and other relevant software applications.
