Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team at ABM Respiratory Care. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing integrated software systems and firmware for medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware for medical devices, ensuring compliance with relevant medical standards.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to specify, bring up, and troubleshoot new PCBAs.
  • Work closely with system engineers, software engineers, and user experience designers to develop efficient and scalable algorithms.
  • Take responsibility for project development, including architecture, requirements, and design documentation.
  • Lead the resolution of critical bugs or incidents and identify gaps in observability and monitoring.
  • Mentor junior team members and review documentation for authorization.

Requirements:

  • BE/ME/MTech with 4+ years of experience in firmware development.
  • Prior experience in medical device development is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex Microcontrollers (STM32 added advantage).
  • Strong coding skills in C/C++ and experience with peripherals SPI, I2C, ADC, UART, DMA, and PWM.
  • Experience with documentation of design/development activities and understanding of medical devices and human respiratory systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with risk management and ISO 14971.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC GDP & GMP experiences.
