Quality Assurance Engineer - Google Retail Search + SQL

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of our retail search integrations. Your expertise in Google Retail Search (GRS) and strong proficiency in SQL will be instrumental in validating data pipelines and executing end-to-end testing to guarantee an exceptional customer experience in e-commerce search environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases for Google Retail Search implementations, leveraging your knowledge of GRS and SQL.
  • Validate search relevance, ranking, and results quality across various e-commerce platforms, utilizing your analytical skills.
  • Perform thorough end-to-end testing on data pipelines and integrations between GRS, BigQuery, and associated databases, ensuring seamless data flow.
  • Write complex SQL queries to validate datasets, perform data profiling, and verify ETL jobs, showcasing your technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with development, product, and data engineering teams to identify and resolve issues, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Monitor test coverage, perform regression testing, and maintain test documentation, upholding the highest standards of quality assurance.
  • Automate test scenarios wherever feasible using appropriate QA tools and frameworks, streamlining the testing process.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in QA or software testing roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Retail Search or similar retail search/AI-based search solutions, demonstrating your adaptability and expertise.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including ability to write complex joins and data validation queries, showcasing your technical prowess.
  • Experience testing e-commerce search functionality, including relevance tuning, search metrics, and user behavior, highlighting your understanding of the subject matter.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and tools such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub, indicating your ability to work in a cloud-based environment.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies, test plans, and defect management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail), underscoring your understanding of industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication skills and attention to detail, making you an invaluable asset to our team.
