Agratas, a Tata Sons subsidiary, is seeking a seasoned tax professional to lead its global tax function.

Job Summary

This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in Direct and Indirect Tax compliance and strategy for India and the UK operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Tax Strategy Development: Develop and implement tax strategies that align with Agratas' business objectives while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Direct and Indirect Tax Management: Oversee all aspects of Direct and Indirect Tax, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and other relevant tax matters.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with local tax laws and regulations in both India and the UK.
  • Tax Advisory: Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks by developing and maintaining robust tax policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure cohesive tax strategy implementation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Tax Audits and Disputes: Manage tax audits and disputes, representing Agratas' interests and negotiating with tax authorities as necessary.
Requirements

A minimum of 15 years of experience in tax roles, with a strong focus on both Direct and Indirect Tax in India and the UK. In-depth knowledge of Indian and UK tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with international tax principles is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex tax legislation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing industry. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CA).
