Database Administrator

Job Summary:

As a skilled Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining multiple Oracle databases in production, development, and QA environments. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring high availability, disaster recovery configurations, and robust backup/recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot multiple Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, 21c)
  • Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations
  • Optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and advanced tuning techniques
  • Manage high availability and disaster recovery configurations using Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate
  • Implement and test robust backup/recovery strategies
  • Automate administrative tasks and reporting using shell scripting, PL/SQL, or Python
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis teams to support SAP systems using Oracle, including performance tuning and backup coordination
  • Ensure database compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in capacity planning, infrastructure scaling, and cloud database strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in large-scale, enterprise-grade environments
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN
  • Performance tuning (SQL, instance-level) and backup/recovery and storage management
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and diagnostics
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments, scripting, and automation
  • Experience in both on-prem and cloud-based Oracle DB setups

Desirable Qualifications:

  • SAP environment experience
  • Familiarity with SAP systems using Oracle
  • Working knowledge of how Oracle integrates with SAP NetWeaver architecture
  • Ability to support SAP Basis teams in database-related operations
  • Experience supporting SAP upgrades and migrations involving Oracle
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification
  • Experience with Oracle on OCI / AWS RDS / Azure
