Storage System Administrator
Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Storage System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of the storage infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of our storage systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain storage subsystems, ensuring compatibility, performance, and reliability.
- Perform storage capacity planning and provisioning to meet current and future storage requirements.
- Configure and manage storage management software and utilities to automate storage administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor storage performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing data placement.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and data replication solutions for storage systems.
- Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.
- Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for storage administration tasks.
- Provide technical support and assistance to internal teams and end-users, troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
- 8+ years of experience in storage systems, architecture, and management.
- 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
- 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
- 8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
