Electrical Protection Specialist Position

We are seeking an Electrical Protection Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled electrical engineer with a strong background in power system protection.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Protection Schemes: Perform complex calculations for system protection and develop relay logic diagrams for various projects up to the 345-kV voltage level.
  • Design Basis Documentation: Develop design basis documentation for protective settings and generate native relay configuration files using software like SEL's AcSELerator and GE's EnerVista.
  • Technical Calculations: Conduct technical calculations, including short-circuit, current transformer performance, and relay loadability calculations.
  • Engineering Support: Provide crucial engineering support for construction and commissioning activities at substations.
  • Protection of Key Equipment: Apply industry standards for the protection of key system equipment such as power transformers, HV/MV circuit breakers, capacitor banks, and transmission lines.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A Master's degree with a minimum of three years of experience is also acceptable.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in substation protection and control scheme design.
  • Proficiency in using software like ETAP, SKM, or ASPEN OneLiner for power system modeling and relay coordination is a plus.
  • A good understanding of Excel spreadsheets to automate processes.
  • Personal attributes: self-motivated, quick learner, able to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical background and ability to communicate effectively with U.S. counterparts.
