About the Role

The Applications Engineer develops technical solutions for package and controls upgrades of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines in customer proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate project requirements
  • Develop a solution
  • Identify potential technical risks to the project
  • Create a project cost budget
  • Obtain technical approvals
  • Participate in technical clarifications with customers and support technical handover to project execution

This individual will collaborate with various stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, project managers, engineers, experts, and tech support.

Impact and Qualifications:
  • Define the overall technical scope for requested proposed upgrades
  • Develop the cost budget for identified technical scope and obtain quotes from major equipment vendors
  • Identify, quantify, and develop mitigation plans for technical risks during the bid phase
  • Provide technical comments and exceptions to customer specifications as needed

Travel to customer sites as needed to perform site surveys, assessments, and customer meetings. Drive improvement initiatives within the team.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Field or Engineering Technology
  • Masters in an Engineering field preferred
  • 10 years' experience with Controls, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering in the oil and gas power generation industry
  • Experience in interpreting and writing engineering equipment specifications
  • Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to diverse parties
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Aeroderivative gas turbines experience highly desired
  • Certifications such as BOSIET CA-EBS MIST H2S are a plus
  • Digital tools proficiency like Power BI is a plus
