Job Description

The Chief Sports Officer will lead the strategic development and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

  • About the Role:
  • This is a leadership position responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating sports-related activities, including inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for the sports department, aligned with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Oversee sports programs, including recruiting, mentoring, and supervising athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Collaborate with faculty, trainers, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of fitness, sportsmanship, and academic excellence.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports-related topics.
  • Evaluate and improve the performance of sports coaches and staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting ethical sports practices.
  • Identify and develop policies for sports and physical education, in accordance with UGC/AIU norms.
  • Liaise with sports councils, federations, and other external organizations to foster partnerships and collaborations.
  • Manage budgets and resources for sports activities, ensuring effective use of funds and optimal outcomes.
  • Supervise and coordinate intra-mural, inter-college, and inter-university sports tournaments, events, and competitions.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or related field.
  • Proven track record of success in sports program development, management, and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sports industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
