Information Security Specialist

This role focuses on enhancing the security posture of our organization by conducting daily reviews of logging and monitoring systems.
As a key member of our IT Security team, you will triage security events as they occur through automated alerts and other dashboards. Routine issues will be resolved based on defined playbooks, while higher severity issues will be escalated.
A self-starter with a drive to continuously improve their effectiveness is ideal for this position. This individual will also provide ad-hoc suggestions for broader improvements to our IT Security systems, specifically in regards to the effectiveness of monitoring and alerting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Alert Triage: Review security alerts in real-time to triage and address or escalate.
- Log Analysis: Review and analyze security logs, reports, and dashboards to identify trends, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
- Incident Investigation: Analyze security events and incidents to identify potential threats or suspicious activities.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate security incidents and anomalies, including conducting root cause analysis and recommending remediation actions.
- Vulnerability Scanning: Participate in vulnerability scanning and assessment activities, including identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities for remediation.
- IT Security Systems Maintenance: Assist in maintaining IT Security Systems, including research into remediation solutions.
- Due Diligence Requests: Participate in Due Diligence Requests and other audit activities to collect and produce evidence.
- Incident Response Exercises: Participate in Incident Response tabletop exercises.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 2-4 years of practical experience in a related information security role. Relevant cybersecurity professional certification is also preferred.
